Vehicle Wrap vs. Paint: What's Right for Your Vehicle?

Vehicle Wrap vs. Paint: What's Right for Your Vehicle?

Whether you're bored of your vehicle's factory colour or want to protect the paint underneath, you've got two real options: a vinyl wrap or a repaint. They solve a similar problem in very different ways.

Vehicle wraps

A quality colour-change wrap is applied over your existing factory paint, which it also protects from minor chips, sun fading, and road debris. Wraps come in an enormous range of finishes, gloss, satin, matte, chrome, and colour-shift, that paint simply can't match.

Because the wrap sits on top of the original paint, it's also fully reversible. Remove it down the road and, in good conditions, the factory paint underneath is protected and largely unchanged.

Paint

A professional respray is a more permanent change and, done well, can outlast a wrap by years. It's usually the right call if your existing paint is already damaged or badly faded, since a wrap won't hide deep imperfections, it will show them.

Cost and turnaround

Wraps are typically faster to install and less expensive than a full quality repaint, especially for a partial or accent wrap rather than a full vehicle colour change.

Our recommendation

If your paint is in good shape and you want a reversible style change with a layer of protection, a wrap is usually the better value. If your paint itself needs correcting, paint is the right long-term investment. We're happy to take a look and talk through what makes sense for your vehicle.
